Following a successful run, the exhibition by Daniel Cilia, Gozo – Faces of Culture, has just been dismounted at the Committee of the Regions Building, Brussels,
The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo, Minister for Gozo opened the exhibition on the 22nd of March.
Daniel said that the concept of the exhibition was that in the wider context of the European Union, the Mediterranean island of Gozo is a micro-cultural ecology in its own right. “The cultural traditions of Gozo are alive beyond expectations, to such an extent as to warrant comparison with bigger European towns and cities.”
Gozo – Faces of Culture presented the colours of life on the island of Gozo as a unique Mediterranean experience. Daniel explained that it was inspired by the stories of the Gozitans; by their lifestyle and their history.
He added that “within a cultural programme focused on bringing the citizen to the fore; bridging all walks of life in one exciting presidency, this kind of exhibition fits right in, with its focus on the Gozitan way of life.”
It is now being planned to present the exhibition at the Maltese Parliament.
