Church & Government work together to assist the vulnerable society in Gozo

The Gozo Diocese, the Parliamentary Secretariat for Rights of Persons with Disability and Active Ageing, a representation of Agenzija Sapport and the Department for the Elderly and Community Care, were present for the signing of a new agreement of collaboration in Gozo.
At a ceremony at the Bishop’s Curia in Victoria, Gozo, the agreement was signed between the Church in Gozo and the Parliamentary Secretariat, with a view to consolidating the operation between the two entities in the work of assistance for the disabled and elderly in Gozo.
This agreement focuses on a joint work plan for the period ahead for the benefit of the vulnerable society Gozo.
Bishop Mario Grech explained that the signing of this agreement is an important occasion to reflect on the circumstances of vulnerability in our society. “This agreement is an opportunity to foster a stronger culture for more services for those people who need support,” the Bishop said.
Parliamentary Secretary Justyne Caruana thanked Bishop Mario Grech for this important collaboration, with the merging of church missions and the Government in sensitive sectors such as the disabled and the elderly.
Dr Caruana said that other new initiatives will be will be announced in the coming days.
