In an update on the Gozo General Hospital Campus Project, Vitals Global Healthcare has said that demolition works at the Barts Construction Site have now been concluded. The site is now completely hoarded off, and it said, should only be accessed by authorised personnel.
VGH said that works scheduled for this week include:
* Ground preparation and commencement of excavation on medical school construction site
* Continuation of works on the new Pharmacy Stores and the General Stores (adjacent to CSSD and Bone Density Unit)
* Finishing of the ambulance bay opposite the Emergency Department
* Continuation of works on the new Dental Department within Outpatients
VGH also advised that Air and Noise Monitoring will be implemented “to ensure that works are being carried out within acceptable levels.”
As already announced, to mitigate parking issues on site, a park and ride service for all patients and staff has been established through a joint effort between Hospital Management and the Ministry for Gozo.
The shuttle service is operating between hospital grounds and the Malta Dairy Products site in Xewkija between 6.30am and 7.30pm excluding Sundays and Public Holidays.
VGH said that a food cart has also been set up in car park outside hospital gate.
