Two elderly British people lose their lives in Nadur car crashTwo elderly British people lost their lives, and a young man was grievously injured, in a car crash late last night in Rabat Road, Nadur.

Police said that there was a collision between a Suzuki Aigneis driven by a 68-year-old British man from Xaghra, and a Peugeot Partner driven by a 25-year-old man residing in Qala. A 74-year-old British woman was a passenger in the Suzuki.

Members from the Civil Protection Department and a medical team were called on site to assist the injured.

Police said that all persons were taken to Gozo General Hospital for medical treatment but unfortunately the elderly man and woman were later certified dead, whilst the 25-year-old is suffering from grievous injuries.

A Magisterial Inquiry has been appointed.
