Update – Artistic Ephemeral Art, A Wonder of the World, at the Cittadella

Update with video link below – Visitors to Victoria this weekend have the opportunity to view a beautiful exhibition of artistic ephemeral art (infiorata) – A Wonder of the World – on the road leading up to the Citadel.
The Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo inaugurated the exhibition on Friday evening. The project is in conjunction with the conference of the Peripheral Maritime regions of Europe (CPMR) that were currently were held in Gozo.The alfombristas international commission entity of ephemeral art in collaboration with Ministry for Gozo, the Infiorata foundation of Gharb and it’s Local Council organised this event at the Cittadella which finishes on Sunday at noon.
An exhibition of ephemeral art carpets with a variety of designs, techniques, materials, and flowers fills the asphalt with art and colour, showing values, quality and professionalism of the alfombristas coming from five Spanish delegations, three Italians, one Belgian, and one Maltese, members of the international Commission, as well as other alfombristas groups and visitors.A total of 10 carpets were created, nine of which have the shape of a petal. The 10th carpet includes the flag of the European Community with the institutional logos of the Ministry for Gozo, Malta EU presidency and the CPMR.Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo thanked all the 100 alfombristas that created such beautiful works of art and invited everyone to visit the Cittadella in the coming weekend to enjoy this beautiful exhibition.
