Nature’s salad: An abundance of edible wild plants on the Maltese Islands

The EkoSkola Committee of Gozo College Middle School said that borage, stinging nettles and fennel are just a few from a wide variety of edible wild plants in the Maltese Islands. Traditionally these wild plants used to form the basis of culinary dishes and medicinal remedies.
Unfortunately, nowadays such plants are simply considered as weeds mainly because of the hectic lifestyle most people lead.
The EkoSkola Committee said that with just a little bit of imagination and research one can start making use of nature’s free healthy food resources
