On Monday evening it was the turn of the village of Sannat to enjoy a full Carnival programme, organised by the Local Council.
The Organised Carnival for all ages included colourful costumes, dance, traditional dance, and plenty of fun and laughter in the main square of Sannat.
Local carnival history of the Maltese islands dates back to the 15th century and the arrival of the Knights of St.John to the islands.
Gozitans and Maltese celebrate this important event on the cultural calender during the week leading up to Ash Wednesday.
