During a trip to Rome, the Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo and the Rector of Ta ‘Pinu Sanctuary Fr Gerald Buhagiar, visited the Centro Aletti where new mosaic pieces are being created for Ta’ Pinu depicting the Joyful Mysteries.
Minister Refalo also met with internationally renowned mosaic artist Father Marco Rupnik, who is working on these mosaics. Father Marco Rupnik’s mosaic works are to be found worldwide including Redemptoris Mater Chapel in the Vatican, the façade of the Rosary in Lourdes, the crypt of Padre Pio San Giovanni Rotondo, Fatima’s new church, among others.
Now next June this artist’s works will decorate the parvis of Ta ‘Pinu in Gozo. Dr Refalo said that such works highlighted the level of Arts and Culture not only in Gozo but also in Malta, adding that they will be another attraction for both locals and tourists who visit Gozo throughout the year.
