Don’t miss the opportunity to view a Gozitan crib with a difference, which is currently on display in St. George`s Square, Victoria Gozo, organised by the Youth Association within the La Stella Philharmonic Society.
The crib, as required by tradition, features the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Gozitan scene. In this Nativity crib, Our Lady and St. Joseph are dressed in traditional Gozitan costumes.
The Youth Association said that another attraction of this crib is the introduction of Gozitan characters that are in their majority synonymous with the city of Victoria.
Several characters are depicted and in particular, there is one representing the pastern Pope Francis as one of the Tree Kings on display. The characters featuring in this crib are all made by a young Gozitan artist Michael Cutajar Zahra.
The crib is being exhibited at the Radio Station, ‘Lehen il-Belt Victoria’ in St. George’s Square, until Saturday, the 7th of January. Entrance is free and everyone is invited to visit.
The crib is open every day from 10.00am – noon and 5.00pm – 8.00pm.
