At the initiative of the Ministry for Gozo, a Thanksgiving Mass was held in the Ta’ Pinu Sanctuary Pinu, for 87-year old Harry Alden, one of the greatest visual artists that we have in Malta, the Ministry said.
Present for the Mass was the Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo, Harry Alden and his wife, together with the Rector of the Sanctuary, who accepted an acquisition of work by the artist.
The Ministry said that this was done to further increase the art collection at the Sanctuary where it will join other pieces by Anthony Caruana, Robert Caruana Dingli, Joseph Briffa, Emvin Cremona and the more recent work of George Fenech.
This art work by Harry Alden is the first piece by the veteran artist to be on display in a public place in Gozo.
