Gozo Minister launches new services for the elderly & persons with disability

The Minister for Gozo Anton Refalo has launched new services for the benefit of the elderly and persons with disability.
Dr Refalo was addressing an activity organised by the Welfare Committee as part of the Christmas programme of activities. The Minister reiterated that the Ministry for Gozo is constantly working to strengthen the community services for the elderly and persons with disability.
He explained that from next year, the Ministry will start offering the services of a physiotherapist, hairdresser and barber for those elderly and disabled persons who are receiving the homehelp service and are housebound..
“Thus people with different mobility needs can enjoy the best conditions.” Dr Refalo said that these services, which will be provided free of charge, will help provide the dignity that is truly deserved.”
Minister Refalo added that these services will be benefiting around 100 people, the vast majority of whom are elderly.
