Gozo Motocross Association signs new sponsorship deal with YamahaGozo Motocross Association has announced a new sponsorship deal with Yamaha by Gasan Zammit Ltd for the start of the new season of the – Yamaha Gozo Motocross Championship.

Gasan Zammit Ltd. is the official local supplier of Yamaha in Malta and Gozo. Yamaha is a world-wide leading brand in motocross racing. The founder and president of Gozo Motocross Association, Mr Frank Xuereb said, "we are thrilled to be working with Yamaha. The strong commitment between the two organisations will promote and support motocross racing in Gozo. We are committed to provide only the best for our riders."

Yamaha said that it is "determined to actively support the local annual championship throughout the year as the Gozo Motocross Association provides high end challenges to both local and visiting riders, while encouraging emerging talented riders who have the potential to participate in this exciting sport."

The first round on the new circuit gets underway this weekend, following weeks of continuous hard work, the renovation of the Gozo Motocross Track is now complete.

The extended circuit, winds up and down on the North side, with an added number of man-made jumps, ramps and whoops. The GTA said that it promises to provide the most intensive racing ever.

The series will hold 8 rounds of racing over the course of the season 2016/17, kicking off next Sunday, the 30th of October, starting at 1.00pm. For the third year in a row, the season will culminate for the final round on the 14th of May 2017.

More Fun Races and other events such as Enduro and Trials will be taking place during this exciting 2016/17 season. New riders are always welcome.

Gozo Motocross Association gave thanks to the Ministry for Gozo and the Gozo Sports Board "for their constant assistance and support."
