The body of the missing British diver, Paul Swain, 49, who went missing during a dive at the MV Xlendi shipwreck on the 3rd of November, has been located in the sunken ship today by a team of volunteers and Civil Protection Department divers. The divers will attempt to recover the body tomorrow morning if the weather permits.
Mr Swain was one of a group of divers exploring the wreck, which lies upside-down at a depth of 45 metres off Xatt l-Ahmar near Ghajnsielem. The other divers raised the alarm when their companion could not be located and did not return to the surface at the allotted time.
A number of previous searches, which were hampered by bad weather and dangerous conditions inside the upturned wreck, had failed to locate Mr Swain.
