Children parade with giant flag bearing the Leone Band coat of arms

As part of the celebrations in Victoria this weekend for the feast of Santa Marija, there was a children's parade on Sunday morning from the Gozo Cathedral to the Aurora Opera House.
The children were carrying a super-sized flag bearing the coat of arms of the Leone Band who accompanied them on the parade.Following a rapturous welcome in front of the Opera House, which is also the band club premises, the giant flag was then hoisted up to fly on the roof of the building. The external celebrations for the feast will continue this evening as follows:
9.15pm Synchronised rooftop.fireworks from the Aurora Opera House.
9.30pm Triumphal festive march along Republic Street, the bands entertain hundreds of revellers and supporters along the way from the Aurora Opera House to Savina Square.
12.30am Mechanised ground fireworks (Catherine-wheels) in Savina Square.
