Reform in sexual health education is a must, says AD

Yesterday, Alternattiva Demokratika representatives attended a Parliamentary Committee Meeting on the introduction of the `Morning After Pill.'
AD's Ann Marie Azzopardi, claimed that there is a need for discussions on the matter to focus on attitudes towards sexuality and sexual education.
Azzopardi stated that, "it is of utmost importance that this contraceptive is available in cases of emergency. It is also important that negative attitudes towards sexuality are removed, as this attitude only serves to prevent good and holistic development in life and in the sexual education of the individual."
She added, "even though we encourage that the `Morning After Pill' is accessible, we also insist that this move should be accompanied with a reform in sexual health education, and in easier accessibility to contraceptives and sexual counselling."
