1551 in Concert at the Citadel: The story of the invasion of Gozo

At the end of the month, a special event is taking place at the Citadel as part of the summer programme of events. The Gozo Creative Theatre Club and Fonadzzjoni Santa Cecilja A.D. 2013 – in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo and the Malta Tourism Authority – will be organising `1551 in Concert.'
This concert will revive the story of the invasion of Gozo which took place in July 1551 where the Ottoman Empire attacked the Citadel following an unsuccessful attempt to conquer Malta. The narration will be by George Camilleri and Lily Said.
`1551 in Concert' is taking place under the Patronage of President Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca.
Two Choirs, a live orchestra and soloists, will perform under the direction of Antoine Mercieca.
Ballet performances by Dance Narratives – Sarah Grech School of Dance.
The concert's author is Joseph W. Psaila while its artistic director is George Mizzi.
`1551 in Concert' should not be missed, so keep the date free – on Saturday, the 30th of July, starting at 8.30pm at the Citadel, in the Ditch (Il-Foss) in Victoria, Gozo.
