Sannat referendum result is a resounding ‘no’ to development

The turnout for the consultative referendum held by the Sannat local council this evening over the proposed development at Ta’ Cenc was only 22 per cent.
Tonights counting of the votes cast revealed that the ‘no’ vote won by a considerable margin, garnering a total of 295 votes, against a total of only 126 ‘yes’ votes.
The proposed development above picturesque Mgarr ix-Xini included 15 villas covering some 90,000 square meters and a hotel extension near to the existing hotel.
