Divers from the Armed Forces of Malta and Civil Protection Department have resumed their search for a 49-year-old British diver who has been missing off Xatt l-Ahmar near Ghajnsielem since yesterday morning.
The diver had been exploring the wreck of the former Gozo ferry Xlendi, which lies at a depth of 45 metres and is also upside down, making the ongoing search efforts extremely difficult.
The missing diver was one of a group of four divers exploring the wreck. The other divers raised the alarm when their companion could not be located and did not return to the surface at the allotted time.
