Silent protest organised in favour of animal welfareA silent protest in favour of animal welfare in Malta, is being organised by Moira Delia, of Animal Diaries and will be taking place on Sunday, the 17th of April, starting at 10.30am.

The protest is being held in reaction to the latest case of alleged animal cruelty, when a video was streamed on social media on Monday, showing a man beating a horse, which was on the ground, with a whip.

Animal Rights Groups, as well as MPs and MEPs, strongly condemned the attack on the horse and called for immediate action to be taken.

Moira Delia said the walk will start from near the LOVE monument which is in St Julians and continue to the Fortizza in Sliema.

She said that the aim of the protest is to push for enforcement of laws in favour of animal welfare. Saying that it was pointless having good laws which are not enforced.

All animal lovers are invited to attend and take part in this walk, Moira said, “thus giving a voice to those who don’t have one.”

On Tuesday morning, Alban Josef Saliba, aged 36, from Birkirkara, appeared in Court, and was charged with animal cruelty. He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail against a deposit of €500 as well as a guarantee of €1,000.

A medical examination of the horses was also ordered by the Court.

The man actually Pleaded not Guilty, is he the full quid or what? was mortalized on Camera in clear colour, and still pleading not guilty he has either lost the plot or naive. Verdict :-Guilty as sin and should go down for cruelty to animals and whipping a defenceless horse and letting the country down.
