This Wednesday, the 29th of October 2008, the Gieh Ghawdex 2008 Awarding Ceremony, the major annual event of the Circolo Gozitano, will be held at Palazzo Palina, Ta’ Cenc Hotel, Sannat at 7pm.
This year the Gieh Ghawdex awards will be conferred by the President of Malta H.E. Dr. Edward Fenech Adami. The Gieh Ghawdex Awards will be presented to three Gozitans who have made a significant contribution to economic, social and cultural development in Gozo.
The ‘Gieh Ghawdex’ award, now in its fourth year, was instituted by the Circolo Gozitano in 2005 as a means to honour personalities or organisation who through their work would have given an outstanding contribution to the socio-cultural and economic development of Gozo. The ‘Gieh Ghawdex’ is also awarded to individuals or organisations who have contributed to the preservation and promotion of Gozo’s distinct identity.
The public is invited to attend and tickets for the event, which will include a sumptuous 6 Course Gala Dinner, can be obtained by sending an email with your request to circologozitano@gmail.com. Tickets can also be obtained from the Circolo Gozitano Committee members. Tickets cost Euro 25 (Members) – Euro 28 (non-members) includng wine and water.
Soprano Rosabelle Pavia accompanied on the piano by Mro.Stephen Attard will be participating in the Activity.
