The sun was shining, the skies were blue, it was a bit cold, but it didn't stop the crowds of people enjoying carnival fever in Nadur!
Carnival in Nadur started on Sunday afternoon with the organised events in St. Peter & St. Paul Square, and was attended by the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo.
There was plenty to entertain everyone of all ages with a riot of colour, laughter, a variety of carnival dances, hilarious sketches, costumes, floats and the traditional kukkanja. The very popular, Nadur Spontaneous Carnival, showing the message of carnival made through satire, will start this Friday, the 5th of February until Tuesday, the 9th of February.
This will take place in December 13th Street, St. Peter & St. Paul Square and the surrounding streets, beginning after sunset each day and lasting till the early morning hours. The carnival week is a time to let your hair down and go with the flow – perfect for those who enjoy a good party!
Carnival time in Gozo takes on a traditional pattern and visitors to the island for this very popular weekend will be welcomed with a riot of colour and plenty of excitement to keep all ages entertained, with Carnival activities taking place in villages across the island. There will be extravagantly coloured floats perched on lorries ready for the procession, children running around in fancy costumes, dancers, music and much much more…….
So take a break, visit Gozo and and experience some Gozo Carnival events that are planned for all the family to enjoy.
