Melita’s cable internet service has recently surpassed the 50,000 subscription. Over the last few weeks, Melita has continued to register a strong demand for its high-speed broadband internet service.
The Vassallo family of Siggiewi have been identified as Melita’s 50,001 cable internet customer. To celebrate the ever growing internet clientele, Melita has upgraded the family’s connection to 30 Mbits per second. For the next six months the family can enjoy the fastest internet experience currently available in Malta and Gozo for free.
“Melita’s robust super-fast internet service has been attracting a lot of interest from internet users. Our unique 30 Mbit internet connection has catapulted Melita to the forefront of internet service providers in Malta. Our customers have responded positively to this breakthrough by increasingly trusting Melita’s products and services over other providers. Today, we are the no.1 internet provider on the Maltese Islands, both in terms of product offering and customer base,” said Mr. Malcolm Briffa, Melita’s Head of Marketing.
“Broadband technology has revolutionised our lifestyles – the way we communicate, work, study, relax and entertain ourselves. Internet speeds are bound to become even more critical, as we embrace ourselves to continue experiencing the benefits arising from an ever-increasing rate of media convergence for highly useful innovative applications such as VoIP, instant messaging, e-government, TV streaming, e-health, e-learning, video conferencing, HD downloads, podcasts, security, interactive gaming, web radio, TV picture in picture, remote monitoring, and many other practical applications to suit different lifestyles,” explained Mr. Briffa.
Melita’s internet and connectivity platform is currently being enhanced following an investment of €10 million in a new state-of-the-art fibre optic submarine cable connecting Malta to the rest of the world. The cable will provide increased capacity for international connectivity, improved redundancy and reliability, a superior performance and enhanced quality of service.
“As our lives are increasingly becoming more dependent on connectivity, having a reliable internet service and adequate capacity is crucial to satisfy people’s lifestyles. Melita’s investment in a new fibre optic cable will further enhance our products and services, with peace of mind as we continue to cater for current and future demands.”
With the ever evolving internet market, bandwidth and speed are becoming an essential requirement to keep up with today’s demanding lifestyle. Melita strives to ensure a reliable and speedy internet connection to all its clients, for this reason Melita continues to broaden its knowledge and capacity on internet technologies,” Mr Briffa concluded.
“The advent of Melita’s 30 Mbit connection has pushed our internet service to unchartered territory as we continue to enable our customers to enhance their quality of life through the best and fastest internet experience on the Island,” Mr. Briffa concluded.
