Every two years Malta and Gozo becomes mesmerized by the VOICES concerts, and the reason for this is quite simple. VOICES is the ideal mixture of good music sung by a 200-strong choir, accompanied by an exceptional band, all for one reason, which is charity.
This year 50% of the money collected from Voices is going to be donated to a special project. After a lot of consultation with different organizations, it was decided that this project should be “The Learning Centre” within the San Blas Rehabilitation Centre of Caritas, whereby all those attending this programme are going to be given the opportunity to learn subjects such as I.T. while being exposed to other subjects like music and the Arts.
The theme for this year was youth, with the title “Tell Me Why.” The song by the same name was sung by four children (Sarah Pace, Sarah Papagiorcopolo, Jonathan Schembri and Yazmin Helledie) on different nights. In the same spirit of VOICES, Playmobil (Malta) Ltd., decided to donate toy sets for each of these young soloists. The Voices committee, together with the Marketing and Sales Manager of Playmobil (Malta), Mrs. Anna Agius, felt that the four young people deserved a token in appreciation of their efforts.
Voices Tell Me Why, which recently took place at the Mediterranean Conference Centre, was sponsored by the Vodafone Malta Foundation.
