The Gozo Business Chamber in collaboration with the Ministry for the Economy, Investment and Small Business, organised a seminar for its members, as part of the programme of events across Malta and Gozo for Malta SME Week 2015.
The seminar, entitled ‘Digitising the Economy,’ was held at the Calypso Hotel in Marsalforn, and was addressed by the Chamber’s President, Mr Michael Grech, Police Superintendent Joseph Ian Abdilla, Mr Marco Desira from Bank of Valletta and Mr Mark Bonnici.
Mr. Michael Grech, President of the Gozo Business Chamber, opened the event by emphasising the care that needs to be taken in using the modern means of communication which can lead to the success or otherwise of businesses. This is important, especially when one considers the modern technology that has to be used.
Superintendent Abdilla talked about the opportunities and threats of the internet. Mr Desira gave a detailed overview of the services offered by Bank of Valletta through Internet and Phone Banking and Mr Bonnici talked about the useful use of a good web-site and also the Social Media. Each session was followed by questions from the floor.
The seminar was closed by President Grech who thanked all the speakers for their contribution and augured well to the participants.
