eSkills European video competition officially launched this month

The eSkills Malta Foundation recently announced the launch of the eSkills for Jobs European 2015 video competition. The competition is organised within the context of the eSkills for Jobs awareness raising campaign.
Aimed at business leaders, policymakers, ICT practitioners, or NGOs who have demonstrated a positive contribution of ICT to societal changes, this competition is an opportunity to highlight and reward persons with a high level of digital skills and literacy at a European level.
The competition focuses on identifying concrete successful initiatives made possible through the use of ICT and the mastery of eSkills and is open to all European Union citizens.
Interested parties can submit applications in five categories which cover all the target audiences mentioned; Digital Citizenship, Digital Entrepreneurship and the Most inspirational career campaigner at http://eskills.org.mt.
The final two categories which will be launched later on which are Young Digital Talent and Outstanding use of ICT for Teaching.
A winner and runner up will be chosen from each category and will be invited to attend the award winning ceremony in December during a high-level conference organised under the auspices of the European Council Luxembourg Presidency.
Last year one of Malta’s entries, submitted by the ICT Students Association under the category Digital Citizenship titled “Best Student Industry Engagement”was selected as one of the finalists. The deadline for this year’s submission of entries is Saturday, the 31st of October 2015.

The eSkills Malta Foundation is a partnership of various representatives from Government, industry and education which aims to advise Government and stakeholders on matters related to eSkills policy and to contribute to the expansion of ICT educational programmes and related initiatives.
The foundation also aims to lead an ICT professionalism development programme and encourage further reform in the ICT educational offerings and to champion campaigns and promote the Maltese eSkills potential locally and internationally.
