Ghajnsielem Local Council presented with National Enterprise Support Award

€14,000 has been awarded to the Ghajnsielem Local Council for the Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem project through the programme, ‘Strengthening the Business Environment Through Active Social Dialogue.’
The Award was won in the Local Councils’ Section and Ghajnsielem Mayor Franco Ciangura, during the ceremony held for the National Enterprise Support Awards 2015, explained what Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem is all about, he also gave his thanks to all the volunteers who had made the project such a success.
The Mayor was presented with €10,000 from the Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business Chris Cardona. The other €4,000 will be awarded when the implementation of the project is completed.
Bethlehem f’Ghajnsielem will now be competing with other towns and cities for the European Enterprise Promotion Awards which will b held later this year in Luxembourg.
The National Enterprise Support Awards aim at rewarding those entities which support entrepreneurship and the promotion of enterprise growth.
The competition puts the spotlight on the role of the public sector at the local and national level in creating the right environment for business and boosting their development with specially conceived projects.
A maximum of two projects participating in these awards are identified and nominated to represent Malta in the European Enterprise Promotion Awards. The National Enterprise Support Awards are organised by the the Commerce Department together with the Enterprise Policy and Schemes Directorate within the Ministry of Economy, Investment and Small Business.
