Prime Minister’s wife to swim Gozo Channel to raise funds for charity

Later this month, Michelle Muscat, the Prime Minister’s wife, will be swimming from Gozo to Malta to help collect funds for the Marigold Foundation and Special Olympics Malta. The swim will take place on Saturday, the 27th of June.
Speaking about the Gozo Channel, Mrs Muscat said that although she is not an athlete, she intends to take on the challenge ahead with courage.
During the past few months, Michelle Muscat has been undergoing the necessary training, both in the pool at Ta ‘Qali, as well as in the sea.
Special Olympics athletes, will join with Mrs Muscat in the last part of the swim from Comino.
Ms Muscat explained that the Marigold Foundation operates on a voluntary basis and offers valuable support to organisations to help strengthen their work in the community.
Part of the funds collected will go towards assisting the participants of the Special Olympics take part in the World Summer Games, being held this July in Los Angeles.
As part of the channel swim activity, the Marigold Foundation will be organising an evening fundraising event inside the Palm Beach, Armier.
