The San Anton Palace private gardens have been made available to the Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society, by H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, President of Malta, and have been named the ‘President’s Secret Garden.’
The Foundation, was initiated by H.E. Marie-Loise Coleiro Preca herself, with the express objective of exploring ways to enhance the wellbeing of society, as well as to provide mitigation measures so as to limit hindrances which are working against this well being.
Now in the President’s Secret Garden, the Foundation is putting up a programme of activities for the enjoyment of all children.
These activities will begin this coming Saturday, the 18th of April from 9.00am. onwards and will be managed by professionals, volunteers and members of the President’s Foundation Core Team.
This interesting and colourful project aims to open windows that present children and young people with a view so exciting and colourful that they have no option but to explore, discover, and value simple treasures that the hustle and bustle of life tends to hide.
The President’s Secret Garden Children’s Hub focuses on participation, inclusion and involvement with activities focusing on five key areas, including:
Self expression – Participation and integration using sign language and dance;
Healthy Eating – Interactive cooking with an intercultural flavour by Fonzu l-Fenek as master chef
Educational – Read With Me
Nurture – Children’s interpretation of animated stories focusing on positive values and messages through discussion
Arts – Activities aimed at encouraging children discover the “little” artist within with special attention to the environmental and recycling
These activities aim to create a challenging feeling for children and young people to capture and appreciate the beauty surrounding them in the same way it has challenged artists for centuries and will continue challenging artists no matter how young or old.
The Foundation said that children and young people are artists and should be given the space to flourish and express their artistic freedom in a safe environment such as the enclosed Garden of San Anton.
Parents are kindly asked to fill the application form and to return a copy either to angela.caruana @gov.mt or email@example.com or by post to the President’s Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society, San Anton Palace Attard.
Please be informed that even though one can apply to attend for all the Saturdays between the 18th April and the 29th June, all measures are being taken to involve as many children as possible. Hence, the President’s office will confirm dates in which children can participate closer to the date.
