The founder of Gozo Choir – Chorus Urbanus, Msgr. Joseph Gauci, will be celebrating the 50th Anniversary of his Ordination on Sunday, the 19th of April.
A celebratory service is to be held in St George’s Basilica, Victoria at 10.00am. The choir said that it will be an honour to animate this sacred liturgy to celebrate the 50 years of pastoral service by Msgr. Joseph Gauci to the island of Gozo, and in particular to St George’s Collegiate Basilica.
The Choir will be performing various motets and John Galea’s Missa In Fractione Panis, a work that alternates sacred polyphony with Gregorian Chant that was also performed during the visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Malta in April 2010.
The Committee and members of Chorus Urbanus, who are this year celebrating their own 40th anniversary, wish their founder Dun Guzepp “Ad Multos Annos!”
