Opposition Leader Simon Busuttil speaking earlier today in Gozo, queried how the Government had awarded the €200 million investment in the health sector, including the Gozo and St Luke’s hospitals, before a call for expression of interest had been issued.
Speaking at a political activity in the Grand Hotel Ghajnsielem, Dr Busuttil said that he wondered if “the Energy Minister Konrad Mizzi already knew of who the investors would be, despite the call still not having been made for investors.”
The PN Leader stated that “some people in Gozo do not attend the PN activities, this is out of fear that they may be targeted. This kind of fear has been instilled, under the current Prime Minister’s Leadership,” he said, “where people would rather keep their opinions to themselves, than airing them in the open.”
The Conference was also addressed by the PN Secretary General Chris Said, who thanked the public for being by the PN’s side at an important moment in time. He also thanked the 150 PN candidates, contesting the Local Council Elections on the 11th of April.
Chris Said said that some of the roads in Gozo are in a terrible condition, “with certain roads in Kercem, even patched with cement.”
