Paid study leave initiative announced for educators in state schoolsPrime Minister Joseph Muscat and Minister for Education and Employment Evarist Bartolo announced today that a paid study leave scheme will be launched in the coming weeks for educators working in state schools.

Minister Bartolo said the scheme will be effective from the coming scholastic year and will aim to help educators continue their studies. The agreement was signed earlier today between the Ministry and the Malta Union of Teachers. The details of the agreement and eligibility criteria have been published on education.gov.mt

The Prime Minister said that this agreement was announced in a school which led the way in co-education in state schools. Dr Muscat said that this agreement further straightens the Government’s will to continue investing for an improved education system.
