PBS to broadcast more local opera productions, particularly from Gozo

TVM – Television Malta , has said that it will, in the coming weeks and months, be broadcasting more local opera productions, particularly those produced at Gozo’s Aurora and Astra theatres.
This was announced recently by a delegation from Malta Public Broadcasting Services Ltd., during a visit to both the Gozitan theatres.
Following the broadcast of the 2014 operas, the PBS and the Gozo theatres reiterated their collaboration to have the opera in Gozo both filmed and broadcast on national television.
PBS Chairman, Tonio Portughese went on to announce that the national television stations will next October, film Verdi’s La Traviata from the Aurora Opera House and Puccini’s La Boheme from the Astra.
Dr Portughese also presented on DVD, copies of the 2014 filmed opera production Il Trovatore. A delegation from the Aurora Theatre, headed by President Dr Michael Caruana, welcomed Dr Portughese and his entourage. Il Trovatore was filmed in High Definition (HD).
Regular tickets cost €80, €70, €60 and €45 with a 10% discount for tickets paid before end of May.
