The Carnival events are organised by the Zebbug Local Council, and will get underway next Sunday, the 15 of February 2015, starting early afternoon at around 12.15pm, when the “Banda Santa Marija” of Zebbug will play joyful marches along the main street leading from the Band Club to the village Main Square. This will be followed by an afternoon of fun and colourful entertainment for all the family to enjoy, several local Carnival dance companies will be taking part, mixed in with intervals of songs and music by other popular local talent.
There will also be a ‘Best Carnival Costume’ competition, in three categories: best costume (with foam), best costume (without foam) and best costume with mask.
The Carnival festivities will end with the traditional “Kukkanja” challenge and fun for all. Another attraction will be a huge “Prinjolata” and all those who attend will be able to get a piece to taste for free.
The Zebbug Local Council is encouraging everyone to come along and join in the fun of this afternoon full of entertainment and also, of course, to take part in the Best Carnival Costume Competition.
