Marsalforn concert by the ‘Stella Maris’ Choir & Orchestra in honour of St Paul

The ‘Stella Maris’ Choir will take part in a concert organised by the Culture Department within the Ministry for Gozo as part of the celebrations in honour of Saint Paul in Marsalforn.
During the concert, various music pieces related to Saint Paul will be performed. The music pieces are composed by various Maltese composers and conductors including Can. Emmanuel Micallef, Can. Luigi Fenech, Mro. Antonio Nani, Mro. Vincenzo Ciappara and Francesco de Cesare amongst others.
The ‘Stella Maris’ Choir will be accompanied by an orchestra under the baton of Mro. Carmel P. Grech and assisted by Mro. Ivan Attard who is the Assistant conductor of the same choir and orchestra. Gozitan soprano Georgina Gauci, who is one of the regular members and soloist of the ‘Stella Maris’ Choir, will also participate together with Maltese baritone Alfred Camilleri.
The Stella Maris Choir do not need any introduction in the local music scenario. Founded in 1999 by its conductor Mro. Carmel P. Grech, the choir is active in various feasts and religious celebrations throughout the year.
It is the resident choir of Ta’ Pinu National Sanctuary where it sings during the main celebrations. The Choir gives its service in Saint Helen’s Parish Basilica in Birkirkara during the titular feast of Saint Helen in August. The Choir sings in various churches and parishes around Gozo.
The concert will take place in Saint Paul’s Church, Marsalforn, on Sunday, the 8th of February and starts at 7.30pm.
The concert in Marsalforn will be under the patronage of The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo
Entrance will be free of charge. Patrons are kindly being requested to be seated in church by 7.15pm. Everyone is invited to attend!
