The Europe Direct Information Centre – Gozo, recently organised an excursion for the Gozo Retired Teachers Association. The excursion was organised through the participation of L-Ewropa Fuq ir-Roti, an information measure which is being organised by the Malta-EU Steering and Action Committee – MEUSAC in collaboration with the Department of Information.
The aim of this tour was to visit projects in Malta funded or co-funded by the EU and to learn more about how the EU funds are being spent.
The group first visited Bird Park Malta, a home to over 200 species of birds and other animals such as flamingos, pelicans, swans, storks, owls, cranes, parrots and many other amazing birds, mammals and reptiles.
Another project visited was Palazzo De Piro, a 17th Century Palazzo nestled in the bastion walls of the medieval city of Mdina, Malta’s Silent City.
The excursion was welcomed and enjoyed by a group of 38 persons who found these projects very interesting.
