The Gozo University Group has stated that in the last couple of days, students at the new MCAST Centre in Ghajnsielem have complained about being subjected to maladministration.
“Students were notified they would not have lessons on Friday when they arrived for their daily lessons.”
GUG said that “some students were also told to help with the cleaning (instead of lessons as usual), in preparation for the centre’s inauguration.”
GUG stated that it “condemns the disrespect shown to these students. Students should be notified before if the school is undergoing work and cannot be used. They should not have to be notified when arriving for their daily lessons.”
“Moreover, it is unthinkable that anyone thought it reasonable to tell the students to clean tables to prepare for the inauguration,” the University Group said.
GUG stressed the need for action to be taken to ensure that this does not happen again.
