Festubru: Festival of local traditions next weekend at the Lunzjata Valley

Next Friday and Saturday, the 3rd and 4th of October, ‘Festubru,’ the popular annual festival of island traditions for all the family, will be taking place in the picturesque valley of Lunzjata, just on the borders between Victoria and Kercem.
The Organising Committee will once again present a full programme of activities and attractions over the 2 days that are directly linked with local traditions, and which is now part of the annual cultural calendar of Gozo.
This two-day activity will also include various exhibitions, featuring farming tools and animals used by our forefathers. Traditional Trades, Food, Traditional Folk Music, Folk Games, Fresh Vegetables, Local fresh products and preservatives will be available to purchase at the festival. There will also be the chance to take a guided tour of the valley.
The fascinating Lunzjata Chapel will be open throughout the two days where Mass will be celebrated.
This festival is being organised in collaboration with the Ministry for Gozo the Parliamentary Secretariat for Culture and local Government, as well as the Kercem Local Council.
The general public is invited to join in this festival for all the family, and take the opportunity to appreciate Gozo’s traditions, culture and folklore.
