Within the context of the European Commission’s mid-term review of the ‘Europe 2020 Strategy,’ aimed at assessing how the EU and the Member States are advancing in each of the main targets, the Malta-EU Steering and Action Committee – MEUSAC is holding a series of public dialogues with Government Ministers.
These dialogues will be evaluating the progress achieved locally so far in relation to ‘Europe 2020’ in the economy, education and employment, research and innovation, energy and sustainable development, and social inclusion.
They follow the public dialogues with the Minister for Gozo held on June the 12th and that held with the Prime Minister on August the 8th that focused on general issues related to Malta and in the EU in the context of the first ten years of membership.
The next public dialogue will be with the Minister for Finance, Prof. Edward Scicluna and will focus on ‘The European Semester: towards sound public finances, economic growth and jobs.’
It will be held on the 24th of September, at InterContinental Malta in St Julians. Proceedings will be in Maltese.
