New Digital Cinema Projector System inaugurated at Don Bosco

The Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo, has officially inaugurated the new Digital Cinema Projector System at the Don Bosco Oratory in Victoria.
It is currently the only operational cinema on the island, and is now in 2D, with a Dolby 7.1 surround sound, at an investment of €70,000, which also included refurbishment work carried out at the theatre, thanks to the support of the Ministry for Gozo as well as financial assistance given by the Government to cinemas under ‘The Cinema Digitisation Scheme.’
The Minister for Gozo expressed his satisfaction for the work being done by Don Bosco Oratory for children, youth and families in Gozo.
He again reiterated that the Ministry is in favour of these initiatives and will always be supportive for similar projects in the future.
As part of the inauguration, the film “Noah” was screened for members of the Oratory, benefactors and friends, thanks to KRS Film Distributors.
The same film will be screened to the general public this evening, Sunday, the 21st of February at 6.00pm.
From next Saturday, the 27th of September, the cinema will also showcase films starting later (8.30pm) which will be geared more towards adults.
