The Prime Minister Dr Joseph Muscat, speaking at a political activity in Nadur this morning, said that last Saturday’s elections showed that last year’s vote was not a one in a million chance, not a coincidence, but that the Maltese people wanted change.
The Labour Movement has “re-written the history books” and the MEP Elections confirmed that the people still believed in the Labour Party’s message. The Prime Minister said. The results for Gozo in the election showed that Labour has a strong presence in Gozo, Dr Muscat said, and the Party was aware of the changes on the island, the Gozitans have chosen PL.
Dr Muscat spoke of the Government projects that are planned for Gozo, which will include creating employment in Gozo for Gozitans.
He also announced that the Government will be opening a new centralised MCAST Campus in Gozo.
Dr Muscat suggested this morning that it was maybe time to look at merging the European Parliamentary Elections with the Local Council elections, not only would it save money and time, but the people were getting bored with election campaigns, he said.
The Prime Minister congratulated the elected MEPs, giving special thanks to Clint Camilleri, who also spoke at the activity.
