Proposed winery in Bidnija refused planning permission by MEPAThe Malta Environment and Planning Authority (MEPA) Board earlier today refused planning permission for the construction of a winery located outside the development zone, limits of Bidnija.

MEPA said that although the site, which is characterised by terraced agricultural land, was covered by an outline development permit, granted by the Appeals Board back in 2011, the MEPA Board cited that the proposed winery was not in conformity with existing policy.”

The Board also took into consideration the fact that the existing structures close to the site of the proposed winery are predominately residences.
