Last weekend the Gozo NGOs Association met with members of ‘Let’s do it Malta’ together with the Gozo University Group (GUG), We Are All One (WAAO), the Gozo Rugby Club and members of ‘Why Not?’
With the support of the Ministry for Gozo, Let’s Do It Malta met with Gozitan NGOs to organise a strategy for Gozo for the national clean-up event on the 10th and the 11th of May, as well as other long-term goals.
“It is a great pleasure to have Gozitan NGOs participate in organising this national land and water clean-up together. This is happening not only in Malta but across 20 countries in the Mediterranean Region and we must do our best to help in any way we can to promote environmental awareness and participation in such initiatives,” said the Gozo NGOs Association.
The Association is thus appealing to other local NGOs to join this national venture. “Some places in Gozo have already been covered, but we need a maximum of participants to make a real impact out of this event. Any ideas are welcome; we need climbers, divers, artists and even established companies.”
“We invite all NGOs in Gozo to take part, by making contact with the Association or with LDI Malta directly. We appeal for help from any sector of society to give a hand in any way they can. This is not just about a clean-up, but it forms part of a whole movement,” the Association said.
