OHSA publishes Papadakis Report on Delimara gas storage facility

Development of Consultation Zones for the proposed Combined Cycle Gas Turbine, Regasification Unit and LNG Storage facilities and existing Delimara Power Station
OHSA, the Occupational Health and Safety Authority, has published the report prepared by Dr. Georgios Papadakis MSc, PhD (Gap Analysis S.A., Athens, Greece) concerning the development of Consultation Zones to be used for Land Use Planning purposes for the above-mentioned installations.
The Authority said that this study adopts a conservative approach and incorporates various worst case scenarios. OHSA stresses that this is an on-going process and the study will incorporate ALL safety preventive, protective and mitigating measures to be determined and incorporated into the site’s Major Accident Prevention Policy, Safety Report, and Internal Emergency Plan which are all required in terms of the Control Of Major Accident Hazards Regulations, 2003.
Dr. Papadakis is a chemical engineer with over 20 years experience in the control of Major Accident Hazards involving Dangerous Substances and over 30 years experience in chemical engineering and Industrial Risk Analysis. He has managed and, or coordinated around 150 projects since 1998. He is also the author of 2 European Commission Guidelines concerning the Seveso Directive Safety Reports and Inspections. He has also published 4 textbooks and numerous publications on the subject.
