Celebrations for the Titular feast of Saint Paul in Marsalforn

The titular feast of the Shipwreck of Saint Paul in Marsalforn is being celebrated with various activities as follows:
Sunday 9th February 2014: Solemn Feast of Saint Paul, Patron Saint of Marsalforn.
3.45pm: Festive band marches by the Victory Band of Xaghra and Santa Marija Band of Zebbug along the main streets of Marsalforn.
4.00pm: Solemn First Vespers presided by Rev. Fr. Joe Cini.
4.30pm: Solemn Procession with the titular statue of Saint Paul. The Victory Band of Xaghra salutes the statue of Saint Paul with the popular hymn ‘Lil San Pawl, Patrun ta’ Marsalforn’ composed by Mro. Ivan Attard. The two guest bands accompany the procession along the main streets of Marsalforn, playing religious band marches.
5.50pm: The procession returns back to the church. Singing of the Antiphon.
6.00pm: Solemn Concelebrated Mass led by Mgr Carmelo Refalo, Xaghra Archpriest. The Liturgy will be animated by an orchestra directed by Mro. Colin Attard.
Monday 10th February 2014: Solemnity of the Shipwreck of Saint Paul.
This is a HOLY DAY OF OBLIGATION.
8.00am, 10.00am and 11.00am: Masses with homily.
5.00pm: Eucharistic Adoration in silence.
5.30pm: Recitation of the Holy Rosary and impartation of Eucharistic Benediction.
6.00pm: Solemn High Mass with homily. The Liturgy will be animated by the Stella Maris Choir and Orchestra directed by Mro. Carmel P. Grech.
The celebrations of the feast end with the solemn entry of the titular statue of Saint Paul back to its niche.
