Ecumenical Service held at St. Augustine's Church in VictoriaWith the Week of Prayers for Christian Unity starting on Saturday 18th January, the Legion of Mary in Gozo, in collaboration with the Gozo Diocese and the Anglican Community, recently held its Annual Ecumenical Service at St. Augustine’s Church in Victoria, for which foreign residents of all denominations and the general public were invited.

This year’s theme, derived from the Canadian Christian liturgy was; ‘Is Christ Divided?’ The celebration was officiated by Mgr. Mario Grech, Bishop of Gozo, Fr. Paul Muscat of St. Augustine Community which hosted the function and Rev. Neill Robb of the Anglican Community.

The service started by a welcoming address by Fr. Paul Muscat followed by prayers, readings from the Bible, messages from the Bishop and Rev. Robb who both emphasised the need of prayer to achieve unity, the Creed, the Lord’s Prayer and the offering of peace.

The Chorus Urbanus, under the direction of Mro. Dr. John Galea animated the celebration with various hymns.
