The Gozo University Group (GUG) Executive recently met with Gozitan MEP candidate Clint Camilleri, during which the Group gave an overview of the role of the Organisation and its aims, while Mr Camilleri explained how and why he has chosen to run for MEP.
The GUG said that following the introduction, “both sides of the table discussed the ways with which the European Union can enhance our opportunities as EU citizens, more particularly as students. Many schemes were also discussed, which could further benefit and enhance the island of Gozo and its people.”
The GUG went on to underline a number of needs felt within the Gozitan society: such as the need for more professionalism when dealing with EU funds, quick and effective solutions to the lack of accessibility and other needs from students in particular, such as the global introduction of video conferencing and online assignment-handing.
“We are living in a century which has advanced tremendously in technological feats and we, as a European society, should not lag behind other countries who have shown great efficiency when introducing advanced technological means to develop their academic standards,” the Gozo University Group concluded.
