St Margaret Band concert to commemorate Verdi’s 200th birthday

Following the 200th anniversary of Giuseppe Verdi’s birth, the Saint Margaret band of Sannat is presenting a band concert featuring some of his most popular opera works.
The band under the baton of Mro George Apap, will be performing a number of overtures, arias and selections from his most renowned operas namely: Il Trovatore; La Traviata; Aida; Nabucco; I vespri Siciliani; Giovanna D’Arco; and La Forza del Destino.
The concert is going to be held at the St Margaret Parish church in Sannat, this coming Saturday, starting at 7.00pm.
Entrance to the concert is free and everyone is warmly invited to attend. Seating is on a first come first served basis.
This will be a great opportunity for all opera lovers to listen to a good number of Verdi’s works in one concert. The band said that it is the “only band in the Maltese islands to take such an initiative.”
The concert will be held under the patronage of the Minister for Gozo Dr Anton Refalo.
