The Saint Mary Fireworks Group of Zebbug Gozo in collaboration with the Gozo Photography Association have organised a Fireworks Photography Exhibition at Zebbug Centru Parrokjali, which opened on Thursday evening.
A number of photographers participated in the first edition of Zebbug Fireworks Photography Competition, which included taking best photos from the Sky Concert & Zebbug 325 Pyromusicals let off during the Feast of the Assumption of Mary celebrated in Zebbug last August.
After being assessed by 3 different judges, the winning image was chosen, along with the runners up and they were announced during the official opening of the exhibition by Zebbug Archpriest Kan. Rev. Ruben Micallef
The winners were Joseph Zammit (1st and 2nd place), Matthew Vella and Anthony Grech (3rd place).The winning photograph was taken during the Pyromusical Sky Concert on the 24th of August 2013 when Zebbug was celebrating the Titular Feast of the Assumption of Mary.
All the participants in the competion received a Certificate of Participation and the winners were presented with their respective awards.
The St. Mary’s Fireworks Group – Zebbug Gozo gave their thanks to the Gozo Photography Association for “their kind help and cooperation,” adding “a big well done for the Winners and thanks for all the participants in this 1st Edition of Zebbug Fireworks Photography Competition.”
Opening hours for the exhibition are Friday, the 15th of November from 7.00pm onwards, Saturday, the 16th of November from 6.00pm onwards and on Sunday morning from 9.00am till noon and in the evening from 6.00pm onwards.
Zebbug is also celebrating the Feast of “San Fortunatu Martri” this Sunday, with a Pontifical Mass starting at 3.30pm, followed by a procession along the streets of Zebbug accompanied by “Banda Santa Marija” of Zebbug.
The Youth Section of the Band Club has organised a car wash on the occasion of this Feast, which will take place at Zebbug Main Square between at 7.00am till 12 noon.
