Gozo Bishop to undertake 2-year campaign of Pastoral Visits

The Bishop of Gozo, Mgr Mario Grech has said that he will will officially open the Pastoral Visits in the Gozo diocese, next Friday, the 11th of October, the feast of the Dedication of the Cathedral.
The Visits, will be spread over two years and is taking place on the occasion of the 150th year since the establishment of the Diocese of Gozo (which encompasses the islands of Gozo and Comino), being celebrated on the 16th of September 2014 .
The Bishop said that the purpose of the campaign of visits, “is that together, as one community, we experience the love of God. Through Visitation, the Church in Gozo in the person of the Bishop and Christian communities must convey the message that God shows his infinite mercy to any person. While hoping to share in families moments of joy and sadness.”
The logo of the Visitation, which was designed by Cynthia Saliba, shows the Cross of Christ, hands open, embracing the Gozitan people, represented by the three hills. The Cross is representing the Bishop’s ministry as pastor . The Bishop is collecting the flock (also represented by the three hills ) to strengthen it in faith and continue moving toward Christ the Lord .
The opening of the Visitation will be with a Concelebration at the Cathedral , on Friday, the 11th of October, at 6.00pm .
The first visit will take place at the Gozo General Hospital.
