Cannabis found in car belonging to female shoplifter

A simple theft investigation led to a drug possession one, the Police said this morning, when suspected cannabis was found in a car belonging to a woman who was caught shoplifting.
The Police said they were called to the scene after the woman was seen shoplifting by security personnel in a retail outlet in Triq Fortunato Mizzi, Victoria.
The woman named by the Police as, 31-year-old Daniela Spiteri of St. Julians, appeared in the Gozo court this morning accused of theft from a shopping complex situated in Victoria, Gozo, between the 15th and 24th September, 2013. She was also accused for having accepted stolen goods.
The accused pleaded guilty as charged. She was sentenced to a three year probation order.
Inspectors Frank Tabone and Bernard Charles Spiteri led the prosecution.
